In 1988 was hij de Nederlandse deelnemer aan het\u00a0Eurovisiesongfestival. &#8230; In 1985 deed hij mee met de\u00a0Soundmixshow\u00a0van\u00a0Henny Huisman. In de finale werd hij derde met het nummer\u00a0<i>Crying<\/i>\u00a0van\u00a0Don McLean, maar dankzij dit optreden brak hij wel door, want in datzelfde jaar scoorde hij enkele grote hits, waaronder\u00a0<i>Love is in your eyes<\/i>\u00a0en\u00a0<i>Ticket to the tropics<\/i>. Het laatste nummer kwam binnen afzienbare tijd op de nummer 1-positie. &#8230; Na zijn Songfestival-avontuur ontving Joling de award &#8216;Best selling Dutch Artist&#8217; in Monaco tijdens de World Music Awards.
